Overview: RIM has been producing BlackBerry devices for 10 years now, and while many variations have come and gone, all the way from the humble pager to the now common and ever growing smartphone platform, they have always needed protection and RIM frequently is the one who provides it, whether it comes bundled or sold separately. This case is great for anyone who wants something simple that they can just slide into their pocket or leave lying on their desk.

Durability: This reinforced synthetic leather case is surprisingly durable. It held up to heavy bending without any warping at all and the interior reinforcing material was flexible enough not to break, letting the case keep its shape. In addition, the exterior leather held up significantly well, not showing any marks from pokes, keys and even a slice. The design doesnt really have any parts either, so it should last quite a long time.

Design/Functionality: The design is pretty simple, its a stitched synthetic leather pouch. The outside is pretty slick leather, while the inside is very stiff and and uniform. Usually a slick exterior is a negative, but considering this pouch is more appropriate for sitting in your pocket or purse, it doesnt bother me much since you likely wont be carrying it by its lonesome much. The case does grip the phone fairly tightly though, so you do have to grip the case to pull the phone out, which is good for safety but can be a hassle to use while one handed.

The device does have fairly weak coverage, the top of the device is totally exposed and could easily be damaged if dropped on the top edge. The coverage is obviously scarified for the convenience, low profile, and light weights of this case.

Also, as a cool little bonus, the case is designed to trigger the BlackBerrys "in holster" mode which helps it to conserve power by knowing to turn off the screen immediately and so on.

Conclusion: If youre looking for a case to put in your pocket or bag, or just to put in your cup holder in the car, this is a great case. If youre looking for great protection though, you may want to look elsewhere.
